The St. Joseph's Cemetery database, compiled by Museum staff, records every existing marker (as of 2012) in the cemetery, along with information from other documents about the people interred there. If you don’t see your ancestor’s name in this index to the database, it does not mean she/he is not buried at St. Joseph. Some graves probably never had markers and some markers have probably disappeared.
Names with marker numbers: People who had a grave marker in 2012 when we completed the cemetery survey have a marker number. The marker number relates to a record at the Museum, which includes a description of the marker, its location in the cemetery, and a photograph of it. If you wish additional information about a particular entry, contact the Museum.
Names without marker numbers: These people were listed as being buried in St. Joseph Cemetery in sources we consulted, but as of 2012, we had found no marker with their name on it in the cemetery.
