Historian Ann Durkin Keating will share with us the early history of Chicago as experienced through the eyes of Juliette Kinzie and as preserved in Kinzie's writings as well as in other historical sources. Her lecture, based on her recent book, will provide an insight into the city's growth from Kinzie's earliest visit in 1831 to her death just a year before the Great Chicago Fire in 1871.
