Join us for a very special Sunday evening event that combines delicious food and scintillating conversation. The theme is Native American-inspired food and dance. Sharon Hoogstraten, whose wonderful portrait photographs are currently on display in “Dancing For My Tribe: Potawatomi Tradition in Modern Times” in our main gallery, will talk about her photography and about the modern-day Potawatomi. Hoogstraten, a descendant of the Ouilmette family and a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, is teaming up with Sarah Stegner, the James Beard award-winning chef and co-owner of Prairie Grass Café in Northbrook. Sarah has graciously agreed to create special Native American-inspired dishes from the cookbook, “The Sioux Chef’s Indigenous Kitchen,” by Sean Sherman and Beth Dooley. Possible small plates might include wild rice cakes with grilled maple squash or corn cookies. Ms. Stegner will chat about the food and her culinary approach. This fun event will mark the closing of the exhibit. Space is limited and tickets must be purchased by October 1st for this unique celebration!
