1908 Wilmette Directory Search Page

• Entries in the 1908 Wilmette Directory Database were transcribed from The Wilmette Directory, 1908, C. H. Rush, publisher. Rush also published The Local News, Wilmette's local newspaper of the time.
  
  
• Except for page number, searches are "contains" searches. In other words, a search for "kin" in the surname search box will return the entries for names like "King" and "Adkins."
  
  
• To browse the entire directory, click on "search" without entering anything in search boxes. This is a good way to become familiar with the information that was included in the directory.
  
  
• You can search on more than one field at a time. For example, you can search for maids who lived on Greenwood Avenue by typing "maid" in the occupation box and "greenwood" in the home address box.
  
  
• To see who lived on a particular block, enter the first two digits of an address in the street number box. For example, entering "14" for street number and "wilmette" for street name will return entries for the 1400 block of Wilmette Avenue.
