In 1927, William K. Wanner was issued the first building permit from the Village of Wilmette for the land which came to be called "Lockerbie Lane." James J. Gathercoal was the contractor of record and in 1929, Gathercoal was issued a building permit for a home, presumably for himself. Between 1947, when the Kings Court Construction Corporation started building, and 1985, various contractors constructed houses in the area including Pittman, E.J. Sass, Carlson Realty Development, Wilmette by Shae, Hi-Lite, and Harp Construction. In 1982, Mitzi Rogers began collecting materials to document Lockerbie Lane and its residents through the years and this collection is the result of her efforts. Box #1
