The Wilmette Council of Garden Clubs was formed in 1960 to improve cooperation among four Wilmette garden clubs: Forth Acres Bird and Garden Club; Green Thumb Gardeners; Little Garden Club, and Wilmette Garden Club. The Council coordinated the efforts of these clubs in a number of civic improvement and beautification projects. The group was dissolved in June, 1999.
