Curtis Curling Center

The Curtis Curling Center was created by Darwin Curtis and financed with funds from Mr. Curtis and the Wilmette Memorial Trust Fund. The Village assumed maintenance costs in 1966, and the grand opening was in March, 1968, with the Wilmette Recreation Board overseeing facility operations. The Park District took over operations in 1973 after the Recreation Board merged with them, but the center was unprofitable, and it was closed in 1978.
