Troop 1 and 2, Boy Scouts of America

Troop 1 began in 1910, the first troop of Boy Scouts in America west of the Allegheny Mountains. Scouting was received with enthusiasm in Wilmette and the troop eventually grew to 120 boys. In 1921, it was divided and Troop 2 (which disbanded in 1979) was formed.
